OTN

I need to blog more, obviously. I have no idea why I don't just dive in and post the ramblings of my life ... or, of more interest, my knitting. So, yea..Here goes:

I'm knitting 11 pairs of fingerless gloves for my neices and nephews for Christmas this year. I'm working on pair #10. It feels so good to have made a decision and acted on it. I usually have all these wonderful plans every year to have my shopping completed by the time I start my vacation (which will be Dec. 15 this year), but NEVER, I repeat NEVER, have accomplished such a feat. Maybe this year will be different.

Done!

The last thing to come out of the house was the wicker "set" just inside the kitchen door. It was the "gathering place"...the place to sit and talk...to share special secrets, sorrows, happiness, and just to visit. I knew it would be hard to move it. It had to wait until last. It made the house a home....my home. But now it will be someone else's home - a home filled with children playing and laughing and parents loving. It feels strange to have to knock on the door now instead of just walking in the back door. Time will ease the pain; good memories will ease the sorrow. The "set" will find it's place in our home now - a special place that will welcome people and allow them to sit and chat. New memories and joys will be created. But the special times and love shared in those seats will never be forgotten. I miss you, Mom.
